Through curated events like networking summits, niche gatherings, and educational workshops, we create opportunities for individuals from Nubian, to unite, develop a vision, that ignite their inner potential (N.U.V.I.).
How It All Started
Nuvi began with two MBA students, Sj and Sean, who crossed paths as roommates while attending the National Black MBA conference. The conference wasn’t just another networking event for us – it was a transformative experience. We spent our days engaging with professionals, exchanging ideas, and soaking in knowledge from the panels. Each evening, we’d come back to our shared room and reflect on the inspiring stories we had heard.
Through these conversations, we quickly realized how much our visions for the future aligned. Both of us were passionate about creating spaces that brought people together in meaningful ways. It was during those late-night talks that the foundation for Nuvi started to take shape.
The Birth of the Nubian x Visionary Networking Summits
After the conference, we decided to act on our shared vision. With Sj’s experience hosting events through The Nubian Circle and running Clyopatra Winery, and Sean’s expertise in branding and production with SB Visionary Production, we started brainstorming. Our first idea was an art and wine night at Clyopatra Winery. While creative, it didn’t fully align with what we envisioned.
Instead, we pivoted to host our first networking event on Juneteenth at the winery. The event was everything we hoped for – professionals coming together, building connections, and walking away feeling inspired. That day proved to us that we were onto something powerful.
The Evolution Into NUVI
As the Nubian x Visionary Networking Summits grew, we realized we were creating something far more impactful than a series of events. We were blending the essence of being Nubian – rooted in culture, strength, and community – with the visionary drive to innovate, inspire, and push boundaries. Together, these elements formed a new vision: a platform where authentic connections, professional growth, and cultural empowerment come together seamlessly. That platform became Nuvi.
Today, Nuvi embodies this fusion of heritage and ambition. We create transformative experiences that honor the richness of diverse perspectives while paving the way for professionals to innovate, grow, and lead.
